Abigail
Producer: WA November Productions - for Universal
Role: Trainee Modelmaker
June - July 2023
This was a feature film I worked on in Ardmore studios, Bray. I was primarily making moulds, casting in resin, rubbers & foams, as well as working with silicone pigments. I also had a hand in set dressing the amazing sets they created. As a trainee I gained valuable knowledge learning from some amazing artists.
Peter & the Wolf
Producer: Blink Industries UK - for HBO
Role: Trainee Modelmaker
April - July 2022
During my time at Blink, I gained valuable experience while being trained by an incredibly skilled team of modelmakers. This was a short animation film, with 2D animation over a 3D background. I was included in every step of the set building which led me to gain a lot of experience, particularly within miniatures. Some of which includes prop making, set building, painting & finishing, working with different scales, using a variety of materials and tools, the process of preparing & fabricating a pre-designed prop, making silicone & fiberglass moulds, health and safety procedures, set dressing, and working alongside a film crew.
I relocated from Ireland to the UK for this role. The set building took place in Manchester while the shoot took place in London. Photo's will be provided once the film is released.
Estella Dreams
Producer: Peter Evers
Role: Research & Design
March 2022
A 3 week project as part of work experience. I only participated in 1 week as new opportunities arose that cut my time short. I was involved only in the research & design. Primarily when the poem was being recorded and when the storyboard was being created. Based on a poem written by Peter Evers' sister, a voice actor was hired to recite it, then a team of students designed and created a short video based on the poem using shadow puppetry, props and lighting.
